Frequently asked questions · FAQ

Before your first visit, you deserve to know.

The questions we hear most often at the office — answered with the same honesty we bring to every diagnosis.

Mild discomfort at most — not pain. We use the right anesthesia for each case and a technique that keeps the visit comfortable: a filling, an implant or a root canal can be much easier than most people expect. If anything bothers you mid-procedure, we stop — every time.

It depends on what needs to be done. Cleanings and fillings usually take one visit. Whitening takes a few. Crowns, implants and full restorations can span weeks or months — because they involve steps with their own biological timing. You leave the consultation knowing exactly what to expect for your case.

Only as much as needed to restore function, health and proportion. The goal is never a smile that looks “done” — it's a smile that's yours, in its best possible state. If a whitening, a veneer or an aligner isn't right for you, we'll say so. A natural result isn't an accident; it's a standard.

It varies by case. Fillings and crowns: 1 to 2 visits. Whitening: 2 to 4. Extractions: usually a single visit. Implant restoration: stages that add up to 4–12 months, depending on bone and prosthetic type. The exact number is set during your diagnosis — never before.

For most routine procedures (cleanings, fillings, whitening), you're back to your day the same day. Implants and extractions may bring mild discomfort for 2 to 7 days, with swelling that fades quickly. You leave with an individualized post-op protocol and a direct line to us for any questions.

Yes. We're a Preferred Provider (PPO) for many dental insurance companies, including children's Medicaid. We work with your provider to get you the best coverage available. Have questions about a policy or claim? Our staff is happy to help — just call us at (304) 842-0441.

We accept cash, checks and most major credit cards, and we work with CareCredit so you can get the care you need when you need it. We'll discuss all costs and payment options with you up front — you'll never have surprises when it comes to your bill.

It's essentially a diagnosis. You leave with a full read on what's happening in your mouth — function, aesthetics, gum and bone health — and with a treatment plan that fits your case and your timing. No pressure to commit to anything on the spot.
